whenever im driving my truck the engine or something makes a noticable clicking noice whenever I get around 3k rpms. Thats when im driving though, when its idleing in the driveway and i rev it up it doesnt do it.

can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that the CEL comes on as well.

Sounds like a lean condition causing the "clatter".. The reason it don't make the noise when reving is because the mixture is richened when reving.
Could be the ox sensor..

Lean conditions can be caused by quite a lot of things, and it's VERY much worth figuring out what it is before replacing HEGO sensors. For instance, vacuum leaks, poor grounding, shorted HEGO signal (common on 2.9Ls), fouled MAF, and so on.

But then again, not every rattle is detonation. That's commonly described as marbles in a tin can.

Rattles can come from the drivetrain and suspension as well, and many of these will also not rattle when the vehicle is not moving.
