i am wanting to lift my 86 ranger and put about 10 inch wide wheels with the bigger mud grip tires on but i want to know if it is hard on the front end or anything first because i dont want to mess up the truck

It does put more stress on the axles, but its hardest on fuel economy. especially if you dont regear the truck. bigger tires are as aerodynamic as a brick.

yea i want a lower set of gears because right now i have a little bit bigger tires on it that came off of a ford explorer and you have to give it quite a bit of gas to take off in first and i hate that because i pull trailers and drive through fields a lot...i am not sure what gears it has but i want a set that are a little lower but still get pretty good gas mileage...it still gets 20mpg right now but i want to know if i can put a lower set of gears and still get good gas mileage along with the bigger tires?
