The pressure line on my 88 4x4 ext cab ranger got kinked when I put my 19 psi injectors in and had a small pine hole so I when to advance auto parts and ordered steel braided fuel lines 18 feet or so and ran from my 89 plastic tank with a high pressure pump to fuel filter then to the rail then the return line all the way to the tank then take it for a test drive and come back on fire

Oh by the way yellow top battery is in my 85 f150 now all melted that's one ****ing tough battery

Nope not at all I was getting sick of that 2.9 now it's time for a 84 351w carbed with a 4 speed and a d60 in the front and 8.8 with disks and just going to clear the whole thing and call it a phoenix

I take it you pressurized the system a couple of times before you started it, right?

Did you figure out where it leaked? Just curious if it was a fitting, etc.

Just curious, was the hose rated for fuel injection 40- 50 PSI? Fuel hose for a carb is way less pressure about 10 psi. To have it burst so quickly suggests you may have used the wrong spec hose. Or not tightened a clamp. Both of those scenarios have happened to me minus the car B que.

I had that happen before when I putt a tbi setup in my old 2.8 only the whole truck didn't catch fire on me but I had a nice under hood fire. My line was a day old and rated for 50psi and blew up under that pressure.

Oh, I'd be in the news for the shooting rampage if that ever happened to my truck.

Man! Glad your O.K.! Sorry about your truck! Post a build thread on your new project!

And do what I did (not that it would help with 50 psi gasoline spraying all over....but).........now I always keep a fire extinguisher in each vehicle/my garage/my kitchen after a SMALL :icon_surprised: engine-fire long ago.

*que annoying black dude in background* DAAAYYYYUMMMMM

i would lean towards user error.

most of the problems i have had were my fault to one extent or another on this subject.. i ordered line before and never read it till after i installed it...(i know better then not to check parts)...it worked fine but i was pissed off pretty good. parts guy said i should have read it before i installed it and did not want to give me a refund....

even after i carefully explained to the fawktard that i did not get what they charged me for....one item was 8.99 a foot and the other was 1.39 a foot......none the less i was not willing to buy line from them after that fawk up and just wanted my money back.

management doubled my money back, got me the right product and even threw in factory barbs when i went to them.

now, installing efi line with the right fasteners the correct way is awful hard to prove after the fire.

if your absolutely positive you didnt fawk up....its worth a shot to talk with the parts manager.

Dang, that is pretty rough. :bawling:

I would do some thinking about what is left, the temper of the remaining steel is seriously compromised. It isn't going to be fun to take apart either...

Wow! Glad you're okay. I like the Phoenix reference.

Paint her red, called her Phoenix, and post up that 351 thread already!

.

Wow...I would be very upset. I do worry about my electrical.

Good to here its going to rise again!
