Why I carry a gun

but if you look, general discussion is under TRUCK discussions. its for truck discussions that don't fit in an exact forum elsewhere. i've made this mistake before... lol

I agree completely. It seems some people don't realise there is an entire website here. If people actually used the entire site, there would be almost no need for this section, and it would be low traffic. Maybe if Jim re-worded the description...

there's not a lot of discussion for trucks that doesn't fit somewhere else. but the general is a high traffic area that everyone goes to, so we post everything here. oh well....

ill be getting my conceal carry here in a month or two, doubt ill carry very often but i will when i feel the need.

usually keep the pistol in the console and clip in the glovebox

I am all about gun control, keeping your finger outside the trigger guard until necessary and hitting center mass. I protected this country for 6 yrs and I will die for this country trying to protect. Remember kids, HIT CENTER MASS and a dead man cannot testify in court either.

I don't carry a gun because I hate the government. I carry a gun because
I understand the limitations of government.

what else needs to be said???:dunno:

one story......mine.

I just got my Conceal Carry Permit. Although it's not really necessary in my county. Open carry is legal everywhere except 2 municipalities (and of course government buildings, schools, etc). One can also conceal carry a loaded weapon at any time in their car, boat, home, etc. without a CCW permit. In Missouri, it's called the Castle Doctrine. A man's car, boat, business, etc is considered his "castle" or home, therefore the government can't tell him what he can or can't do (obviously not drugs, beating your wife, that sorta thing). In other words, if it's legal in your home, then it's legal in your car, boat, business, etc.

Just be sure to carry it in your hand at a walk-up ATM machine.....:headbang:

nothing like feeling a gun barrel against the back of your head while taking a twenty outta the slot....

If you conceal carry you know the four rules of gun safety, you know about situational awareness, and you realize early on that a decision to conceal carry means you may have to use your gun against an attacker and settle in your mind that you will do that regardless of consequences.

Having that license means having to practice with the gun you carry until it is second nature to draw and fire accurately. You shoot a hundred or more rounds a month to stay proficient. Your brain is your best weapon and pulling the gun is the last resort. Fleeing is the first option. Resorting to your gun is not based on a sense of macho pride but on being convinced there is no other option and you fear for your life.

Concealed Carry is a life changing commitment you willingly enter into because the alternatives are unacceptable.

If the Mods dont feel like this was a good place for it they could have certainly moved it.

pistol? imagine a .50 cal muzzleloader pointed at you!!!

btw, shooting at someone, and shooting someone are two differnt things

Just have to time the jump just right and do something in the next 3 minutes while the guy tries to reload.

I can fire my .44 cal blackpowder revolvers pretty quick, after 5 shots it will take me awhile to rock and roll again (on one of my Colts, on one of my Remingtons it is about 10 seconds to do a cylinder change and I have another 5) Back in the cap'n ball days guys usually carried more than one gun for that reason, run one out and you have another ready to go.

They are very neat guns, but rate of fire isn't their strong point. Lighting the attacker on fire as you shoot would be kind of satisfying though.
