So I have a persuasive speech due in my speech class and I'm doing it on why Ford is better than Chevy. I need some points and statistics to help support the speech so some help would be great! Thanks!

Also if you could verify this info for me...just wanna make sure it's accurate:

--2005 Silverado at 56,000 shreds torque converter into small enough pieces that some get through the pump into the tranny. Chevy guy: Yeah, those 4L60's all go at about 60,000 miles--

No car company is better then another, they all have their strengths and weaknesses, failures and successes.

I think a better one would be why all modern vehicles are pieces of junk. I can think of just as many bad things about Ford as I can Chevy. Your argument hinges on the fact that you think this so because it's your favorite brand, that is going to be tough to argue because it's not cut-and-dry factual information, but solely based on opinion. It's such a broad topic, so many different makes models, such a broad history, and so many different things people use them for.

I think a different topic would get you a better grade and would make this project easier to do.

You're statement about the 4L60 is an opinion, they really don't ALL fail at 60K. Very small pieces of facts would tear that statement to pieces.

Yeah, that's a bad topic.

How about trying to persuade that Global Warming isn't man-made? That's what I did in college using a couple old Time articles to show that 35-40 years ago people were convinced that global cooling was a serious threat.

That is not the norm...

Don't forget to mention the 3v 5.4s recent love for eating cam phasers too :icon_thumby:

i had to read that a few times to catch what you meant, thank you for being sensible lol

I'm the most die hard Ford man I know, but this would definitely be a topic I would stray away from, especially if you have a Chevy guy in your class. Cause while I believe that Ford truly does engineer a better vehicle, we all have our weaknesses.

Ford against Chevy? Hahhha. Don't forget to mention the problems that have plagued Ford as well as Chevy to be fair….Ford Pintos back in the 70's that killed people when it got rear ended and the gas tanks blew. Don't forget to mention all the electrical fires from Fords that set off fires in parking lots and people’s homes that killed families and their pets and burned down some people’s homes. How about those Exploders…. Eh....loosing wheels, flipping over and killing people. Great rep our beloved Fords have? Right? Pick another topic for your class. All manufactures have had issues and they always will. Ford has been outsourcing parts (motors and transmissions for instance) to China and other countries for years. All manufactures do this as well.

every company has there turds and gold nuggets, i can think of atleast 10 ford vehicles i would not wana own.

Chevy sucks at life............speech over. Closing statement of 'Polish a turd, it is still a Chevy.' :icon_twisted: :icon_rofl: :D:icon_thumby:

the 95 silverado we had was a decent truck. 4l60e.. last 150,000 (ish) then did a full rebuild. only needed a couple parts but since we had it out...

the 92 scottsdale we had... had over 500,000 miles on it..lived its life as a horse trailer hauler up until we bought it.. one owner, never needed ANY major work.

still... chevy sucks! lol. i don't like chevy for small things mostly. i just don't know if i'd do that as a speech in class. down here in MS, i'd have someone stand up quick for chevy and we could argue for hours and get NOWHERE... so i'd think about doing something else.

I did the same and got all the points for the topic, teacher only took off points for my personal nuances. Global warming is another easy topic to shred since it too is based on opinion not fact.

Sent from road while ignoring traffic

Maybe a topic on Music? Old rock compared to new rock, new wave to disco and country and country rock. That will be a great topic. How about that??

The only argument I can come up with other than my personal taste is Fords are not built and backed on our hard earned tax dollars. Hopefully, GM will someday repay us.
