I have the back half of an old ford truck for a trailer and people look at me like I'm crazy when they see me with it behind my truck.
That is what everyone had for a trailer when I was growing up.
Am I really nuts? It already has lights and an axle that is plenty strong a 9" all I did was take the cab off and bent the frame rails together by the front cab mounts. A 2" hitch-tongue jack-tool box in front of bed. I am going to get a surge brake hitch for it when time and money allow so the drum brakes on it would work again.

What do you guys think and what do you use for a trailer?

I have no pics of my trailer until my friend brings it back.

I have a 70's chevy truck bed for a utility trailer. Seems to be really common where I live for pretty much all truck bed utility trailers are from chevy's. People probably give you weird looks because they weren't smart enough to figure out the truck bed trailer idea, they probably wasted a few thousand $$$ on some overpriced off the lot utility trailer.

Those were quite common in my area when I was growing up too...still see them around here but mostly on farms...

Someone posted a few pics not too long ago of a converted vehicle (think it was a Jeep or van) converted for use as a trailer...it was very well done...I was considering this at one point also...when I had two Rangers...but I figured my little 4 banger would have enough work just getting out of its own way...

Post pics if you've got some...:icon_thumby:

Tons of them around here.

I have the rear section from a '86 Ranger I am going to make a trailer out of. The frame is cut, just needs bent together and a hitch put on it.

I might even puff can it to match my '85. :icon_twisted:

People look at you like you are crazy because they are stupid.

I know where there is one near Brinker that just pisses me off though. It is made from a Ranger twin-tank bed.

I have one that matches my Ranger and fixin' to build another one this spring.
It's cool.

i picked up one with a 60's dodge bed for 30 dollars...who cares what other people think! 30 dollars for a trailer? great deal.

is that what youre thinking of this was circulating the forum a month or two ago and this thing is just too awesome to not repost.

That doesn't look like it...but that one looks nice...

The one I'm thinking of actually used the front part of the vehicle also...it had right up to the firewall and included the windshield as well...the front doors opened and the floor was done in that aluminum stuff with the diamond pattern...can't think of the proper name right now for some reason...too early~
