If i had the money and time to buy my girlfriends dads ol 83 custom deluxe 4x4 350 sitting on 35s an 6 inch lift most likely id be ending up pulling all fords outta the mudpit.

Nothing wrong with driving a Ford or Chevy. Honestly a strong preference in either is just ignorance. I was raised around Chevy all my life also. My dad even works at GM...

I prefer Fords, they are what I am familiar with and what I have a stockpile of parts for. They seem to put together a pretty decent vehicle.

I grew up a die hard Chevy fan though, they were all dad had for a long time. Then he got a '80 F-350 and it all went downhill from there :icon_twisted:

I have thought about expanding my horizons a little and getting a late 70's-early 80's Firebird or Camaro to mess around with though.

sucks for you. my ranger has been problem free for 6 years straight even through all the abuse.

my ford flatbed has been problem free for over 20 years even though its been sitting most of the time. when its needed it fires right up and gets straight to work.

my ford 4x4 is much the same. it could sit for months and still start right up and be ready to go.

here's the kicker... they are all maintained properly and with care.

i could say the same about any make of vehicle though. if you take care of them there is no need to be small minded because they will work as intended.

some vehicles have quirks because nobody can design something perfect without running up costs.

i grew up with chevy's and fords. i like both, but i'd depend on a ford more than a chevy

anyways i would not trade for an 84 chev. i hate all of the available engines and the s10s seem to have a LOT less cab room.

all of the motors are worthless, i have an 87 with a 2.8, 4 speed and 4x4 and that truck is a hunk of crap

it was poorly maintained when i got a hold of it and it was past the breaking point. i wouldnt count on that thing to take me a mile going down hill
