Ok, background.
I am dong a SAS on a 1997 Ford Ranger. Swapping the TTB for a Ford D60. I will be using 14" fox coilovers, with a radius arm, trac-bar setup.
I weighed the truck before tearing it apart and subtracting all the unsprung weight, I got it at 1100lb per corner, sprung weight, up front.
I am shooting for 6" up travel and 8" of down travel, as this will be an all around trail rig from rocks to mud. Mostly rocks and trails though.
Please check these numbers for me as I am getting about a 180 lb/in rate and that seems to be a 300 over 450 spring combo, right?
And after calling and looking at eibach's spring rate chart, Would there be a problem with me using a 14" -300 coil on bottom and a 12" 450 coil on top? The reason I ask is that with their numbers and those springs I am getting 7.25" travel out of the 12" and 8.25" our of the 14" which is more than the 14" travel the shock has. Which would still prevent coil bind, correct?
let me know if I am on the right track, or WAY off and offer other suggestions.
Thanks
Chris
