Little history: Have an '03 XLT 4x4 and have wanted the RCD for awhile, now that i have the money, it's discontinued. Working with two shops to lift my truck and 1 other option.

#1 - Wants to install Superlift kit, then build an engine cage and mounts to install fox 2.0 coilovers w/ resivoirs = $3500

#2 - Wants to intall spindles, then do a complete fab to install king 2.0 coilovers (no engine gage, just beefed up mounts) = $2500 and promo my truck.

#3 - Buy used (1 year old) RCD front conponents = $1500 + install.

Any ideas, insight, coments, suggestions, preferences, etc... glady accepted!

If it were me, I'd go with #3.
#2 is a shithead because you can't put lift spindles on a 4x4 unless you're talking Hummer H1 or Unimog stuff. Knuckles yes, spindles no.
If you go to www.explorerforum.com, there is a guy named Chad551 who has done exactly your #1 on his Sport Trac (same front end as a Ranger) and in fact is pimping his stuff for sale because he is planning an SAS. Shoot him a PM and tell him JohnnyO sent you.

Another option is the Dixon Bros. coil-over but it costs even more than the RCD did.

the superlift kit is a spindle lift for the 4x4 ranger. #2 will just be using the spindles and fabbing everything else.

the DB would be nice, but like u said expensive = out of my price range!

No, spindles are a different part than knuckles. You cannot do a spindle lift on a 4x4 like you can a 2WD truck. The Superlift kit gives you new knuckles.

I would tend to agree go with #3, just because of the cost.

thanks for the clairification!

#3 will actually be more because i will want to upgrade the coilvers and have to pay for installation. it will end up being about $3000 (right in the middle of option #1 & #2
