Who are you voting for?

Eh, not quite the same. We need one of the good ol' boys in office, its a shame charleton heston passed away.

Right or wrong, we have had stability in the region. We have a base there that will last as long as oil does. We didn't have that before. The importance of that is fantastic.

People cry about oil wars, and cry about gas prices. It's not gas proces, it's an economy price. We all see that oil is directly tied to every aspect of our nations life. Everything comes from oil--from the streets we drive on to the plastic in everything we use. not to mention fuel. Our national success is because of oil. Without it, we would be international nobodys. The reason we haven't pursued other things is that there is no shortage of it. there's only predicted shortages. It's not going away. We need it. It's worth fighting for because without it, we tank really hard and nobody is working.

George Bush is going to be judged in a good way by history. We finally get a president that does exactly what he says he'll do and everyoe hates it. We need another lying asshole that tries to appease public opinion. Uninformed public opinion.

The next president will not pull us out of Iraq.

I don't want a flake in office. Whoever ends up there will go from hypothetical bullshit to being in charge. You want Obama in there? It hasn't been proven that he can deal with a boiling pot of water. Hillary? Maybe. But I've never been concerned that she could actually win the nomination.

McCain is the obvious choice I'm afraid. He is the status quo. He has a reasonable idea of what he can and can't do in office. He's a realist that nobody wants to listen to. I don't see anyone else as president right now. I think McCain is the best guy for the job.

How is a president who goes against the will of everyone else a good person? I see McCain as another slightly better dubya, same shitty ass war, same shitty ass economy, Hillary is just "meh", I think Obama can step up and do what needs to be done, we can't continue down this slope for much longer.

Our current good ol' boy worked out so well huh?

I'm 65 & I can tell all you guys one thing for sure. Never in the history of a presidential race has there been MORE BULLSHIT, MORE BASHING & MORE SPENDING for totally "unqualified" candidates then there is today with them telling us NOTHING that we don't already know. For what it's worth (and I am not bashing at least not intending to anyway) I told people back when GW Bush ran for office he was NOT the man we wanted as president of the USA. I rest my case on that subject. But IMO if anyone in their right mind thinks for one minute that Obama is the "right" person for president then I have a gold mine in VA I will give you FREE of charge. And Hillary is NOT any better nor is McCain. There is not one person running today who is worth being president of the country. Not one!!

All I've heard our of any of them is what they think this country NEEDS but never tell us HOW they are going to do to fix it. Well DUH!!! How about that. And IMO that's all because all they care about is themselves & to hell with the American People AFTER they get our vote. Politics, greed, corruption in office is ruining the country. It's all about "let's make a deal". Tell the voters anything just as long as we can get their votes.

But I am going to say one thing I firmly believe in. "IF" Obama gets into the White House, well my 4X4 friends, you ain't seen nothing like what's going to take place over racial issues. Say what you want to say & call me what you will but I'm telling you in advance, there is going to be more trouble then this country has ever seen in it's entire history.

I remember telling many people BEFORE GW Bush got into office that "if" he did he "would" envade Iraq because he was pissed off at them over his Dad's dealing with Sudam. Well, looks like I "might have known something" huh?? Being "older" believe it or not does give those of us that "fit that bill" an advantage somewhat to see things the younger generation doesn't at times dur to many years of experience we have faced over times. Not always but sometimes. I was born on the "tail end" of the Great Depression & I've witnessed this country go from the most powerful nation in the world to one that is not very well liked right now by many countries. And I remember the days we many of us had plenty & times where good but now? What I hate to see more then anything is the younger generation "saddled" with this terrible national debt that GW BUSH has brought on everyone that is going to take many many years to ever repay. You younger guys are going to be paying it & it's going to be hard. And if you think Obama has a plan to make things easier for you, you got another sad thought coming. And that goes for the other 2 candidates as well. Whoever gets in the White House is going to be faced with all the problems this present administration has brought on everyone. It took 8 yrs to cause it to be like it is now & it's going to take a lot longer then 8 yrs to fix it.

I'm not really sure McCain is the "best guy" for the job but he certainly is a lot better then the other two who are running. McCain for one thing certainly has the experience whereas Obama's only experinece I can see is never being anything but a good talker. I'll take McCain over Obama any day in the week. AND I'll Hillary over Obama too.

I agree with a lot of what you say but let's face it, someone is going to be the next president whether we like any of the candidates or not, I certainly don't think Obama could do anywhere near as bad as Bush has.

Man I wish Bill was still president, I'd send him all the fat interns he'd ever want if everything was doing as well as it used to.

Haha, what a First Man he'd make! I'm with Obama though. If she manages to make it, I'll vote for Hillary though.

It is way too early to tell. The fight hasn't started yet. Obama has to first get the party nomination. Then the fight can begin. Mrs. McCain was on today and said that John will not use any negative campaigning. If that is true, he might as well go home now. The demoncrats are not nice guys, and will kick his ass.

Hillary stated her programs very well in her interview with Bill O'Rielly. She made some sense on a couple of them, and not so sensible on some. She can't seem to let go of the heath care for everyone project.

No one knows where Obama stands on anything. He has said a few things, but nothing in detail. He has absolutely no experience in anything, even as a senator, and some would put him in charge of one of the most powerful nations in the world to deal with some of the meanest MF's who ever lived. Not a smart thing to do. And, change for changes sake is not too smart either.

McCain is as much demoncrat as republican IMO. He doesn't want to stay in Iraq, but doesn't want to cut and run either. He admits he is weak on economic issues, but is learning. This is more than we have heard from the other two.

Ron Paul is a libertarian posing as a republican. His ideas sound good, but in reality are too radical, and for this reason doesn't carry much weight in congress. Huckabee was a man for all seasons. Romney and Guiliani were my pick, in that order.

The choices will be easier later in the fall. shady

How do you know how things were when Bill was President? You were under 10 years old. Two things that make success, being in the right place at the right time. Clinton came into office when the PC revolution was just beginning, then in 1994 the republicans became the majority in congress for the first time in a million years. The economy went wild, and he had absolutely nothing to do with it unless you accept the fact that he was leaving it alone while his only interest was in getting his weenie washed.

Also, W isn't going against the will of all the people. Not everything is as cut and dried as it may seem as you will learn as you get older. shady

Yee haw.. This will be a fun topic.

Obama is a joke, plain and simple. He went to a church who spewed racial statements. He was married by the paster of said church, who he now claims didn't marry him... He is also too much of a coward, or hater, to put up his hand durning the pledgle of allegience. Please, go sit your ass back on the camel and re-install your rag.

Hillary is not as bad, but I don't think she could take the pressure.

McCain. He is not all that great, but at least he has a CLUE about what to do.

If Obama get in office we all minds well move to Canada, because the US will be "little Iraq" before you can impeach him.

I don't think we need to jerk all the troops out of Iraq. That is a stupid thing to do, all the guys and gals who died in vain, just so we can quit before were done?

Gas prices suck. No president is going to change that right away unless they start pissing oil.

Didn't Hilary say she was going to make the oil companies do that? :icon_confused:

I've got a professor right now who gets pretty deep into politics. Reads from a ton of news sources outside the mainstream media and gives his students the abridged information. Obama has a good healthcare plan but lacks time spent to be a strong leader. Keeps spouting on about change but like so many others those changes won't happen. Hilary isn't bad but I agree she doesn't seem to handle pressure too well. And as for McWar, well he's just nuts. He openly stated the economy is not his strong suit which is what we need the most right now. Look at his history too, I salute him for serving in the military but at the same time he spent 4 years in a prisoner of war camp in vietnam. No one goes through something like that and comes back mentally sound, he's got psychological issues no doubt. Plus the guy is 72 years old. If he becomes president the white house will have a couple designated nap times every day. Huckabee was a good candidate except for the fact that he would follow Bush in his attempts to turn our democracy into a theocracy and I defnitely believe in a separation of church and state. It really is going to be a contest of choosing the lesser evil, and right now that lesser evil is not McCain.

It would be nice, but she's not that powerful... yet.

Monica on the other hand......

At the time when he did what he did, just about everyone was behind him all the way. The press is so negative about everything anybody does it is rediculous nobody has a chance in the public eye anymore.

I think McCain is the best shot, Obama is good at talking about what he wants to do but has no clue if he can do it, and Billery is great at saying what she thinks everyone wants to hear without much more thought going into it than that.

Honestly I think anyone smart enough to do the job well is smart enough to know to stay out of the race.

I remember Bill Clinton. Hell, I was on a security detail for him and Al Gore when they both came to Cleveland in the 90's. During that time, we had a zero deficit and a good economy.

IMO, Al Gore should have won back in 2000 and we wouldn't even be dealing with Bush. I don't know how you can win the popular vote by so much but lose the election by 5 electoral votes. That should have been the year that everyone learned that your vote actually counts.
