Wheelin??

I wheel. Im also in college and on a limited budget. Therfore I dont wheel as much as I would like. No my truck is not lifted, I almost have everything I need though short of break lines, shocks, and some chevy 63's. I have spare axles that are being built with 4.88's and lockers. Point im trying to make is that I give advise on what I feel I have knowledge of. I have torn down engines much bigger than my truck, but I dont give advise on engine repairs cause I dont have experience with any of the Ranger engines. I sure do know the Dana 35 pretty well. Seeing as how I have torn them down and serviced the two I have several times.

Unfortunately I believe in the recent past that this site has wandered a little bit. Sure we still have the best information on the internet, but we are getting posts now about "How does Pussy Taste?" Not cool. Fact is that I think most people who give advise on here try to the best of their knowledge, and if they are wrong they are quickly corrected by MAKG. HAHA.

are you talking about the safari park out side of edmonton???
don't know the address

Last time I was by there his tire shop had closed down... I dont know what the future holds for his park... (I have never been there but I believe it is out towards Sherwood Park. And your correct kaskirov, from what I have seen it is not a stock friendly park! White Knight makes it look fun, but i dont know about everyone else!.

when i was in anchorage once a month or so, nothing to hard due to the lack of funds to fix the truck, but now that i'm back in juneau and the the fact that there are no trails here my poor truck has to live the life of a street queen :bawling:

This thread poses the question - Is wheeling the ultimate or best reason to own a ranger? Is a wheeled ranger really the pinnacle of ownership? If you were going to choose any vehicle to use strictly for wheeling, would it be a Ranger? I've owned 2 Rangers. They are great vehicles. I've wheeled them both and they can hold their own, but that isn't why I continue to own one.

I am a weekender...twice in the last month...mines the dirty truck..uhh...black truck... the one on the end...lol

that is a rad pic. i wheel mine whenever i can.

My truck never leaves the pavement. I've never really been wheeling before, and there's not many places to wheel around here. Even if I wanted to, I just don't have any time to wheel. Maybe someday I'll build myself a trail rig, but that won't be for years. (gotta finish school). My Ranger will always be my pavement pounder though, it's just too damn pretty to wheel.

i don't get out as much as i used to, when i lived in montana i used to be able to squeeze a couple times a week. since i moved to washington i think it's been once and that was to take a friend to high grade a christmas tree. on the olympic penninsula if it's not national park; it's forest service or state OR it's under a 100 year lease to a private company or timber contractor. i think for every 3million acres preserved for one reason or another we should have 300acres set aside for offroad recreation for EVERYONE, trucks as well as atv's, otherwise why build all these 4wheel drives.

I can change it if you want. Just let me know.

do so,

and the reason for the question on who wheels there rangers is the simple fact that 95% of this site is directioned towards rangers and there uses offroad. in the techlibrary most informaiton is geared to those who want to upgrade for wheeling type purposes, and in my opinion, the ultimate budget wheeler is a small block ranger on EB rears, it will outwheel vehicles much larger on the same tires without breaking a sweat.....

I think he was directing this at the people who always have 0.02 for the questions asked by guys doing buildups, whether they have a rig and wheel it, or not. (Mainly the "or not" guys, um, input is nice, but do you have anything to back this up?)
The pinnacle of ownership to me is looking forward to driving your vehicle, because you love it. I had that with my Nova, and am growing that with my Bronco, for entirely different reasons.

Wheel every chance I get, not too much in the last few months, I've been spending alot of my spare time in the garage helping my buddy build his HEEP...so we can get some more wheelin' in.

OK, I voted for 'Few Times A Year'.

TRS-2 has plates and I drive it on the road occassionaly, but my main reason for building it is for off-road. If I lived near an off-road park I'd use it more.

thanks jim, and once i get my paypal straightened out i will send ya some loot for the site

Up until last year we had a group out almost every weekend. Sometimes it was a Saturday and Sunday type of event. In the last year many of the guys in that group have bought houses, changed jobs, moved to Montana or Minnesota, or have stabled our rigs for a more dedicated build.

I would say that I myself, along with my whole crew can be classified as dedicated wheelers. Almost all major purchases are governed by this "hobby" whether it be the purchase of a house that has a large shop/garage or something that would facilitate building said shop, buying 3/4 or 1 ton diesel tow rigs, gooseneck trailers, etc.

RIP:
