in the mornings about 15 seconds after I start my 1992 b2600i it bellows out white smoke really bad. and it continues to smoke until I am driving down the road a ways. Usually it goes away after I hit fourth gear or so. the smoke is very thick white and it is a huge amount. does this sound like bad rings or some sort of sensor going haywire? any help would be great. thanks Also, theres no tag on my front differential so how do I know if it is a 28 or a 35?

sounds to me like blown head gasket. Does the "smoke" smell like coolant? Do you have light brown foam on the under side of the oil cap, or on the dipstick? Do you get bubbling from the radiator if you idle with the cap off? Are you using coolant?

All signs of a blown head gasket.

Check for coolant like said above. If everything checks out it's a good chance the valve stem seals are gone. Normally it's a little darker or bluish, but I've seen some that smoke surprisingly white in color.

Everyone here has Very Valid Points... Has the truck Overheated yet ? If You don't find water(grayish goupy stuff) in the oil or exhaust blowing back through the radiator,it may be a bad valve guide or a seal but white smoke(should be blueish) wouldn't pan out for that issue it would be unusual...

white smoke has blueish tint but oil and rad. fluid is fine

if it was a head gasket or rings wouldnt it smoke as soon as it was started? sometimes it wont smoke for up to 35 seconds after started. whatever it is its making it dump mass amounts of fuel into the engine because it eats up fuel really bad mostly in startup and when warming up the exhaust pipe is really black on inside but if i drive it on highway it gets great gas milage. it does get very hot before it cools down by opening the thermostat like 3/4 up the guage then drops. could this be a cold start valve or something like that? something that just operates during warmup?

i would agree with them if it's got a blue tint to it it sounds like bad rings or a bad vavle seal or guide
