So I had the truck run hot and pull the head off to have it checked it was cracked. I got a remanufactured head put it on time the truck correctly cleaned out all the ports on the intake and exhaust got a new EGR did Ford rebuild kits on my injectors. My compression is 10 psi lower on cylinder 1, I blow white gray smoke for the first 10 seconds after startup maybe 15 or 20 seconds oh, and my number one spark plug intake and exhaust plug are wet and black. The compression on cylinder 1 does come up when I put in tablespoon of oil. I am not low on oil, low on coolant, or any other fluid.
I assume I must do a cylinder leak down test to see if it is rings or Injector dump. I am partly color blind so I couldn't tell you if it's blue gray smoke from fuel ? or white smoke.
Once the truck gets running it runs perfect without any smoke

After thinking it over, the smoke is either white or grey= coolant or fuel
Spark plug is black and wet= oil or fuel
Gas gauge is not working= fuel problem
The fuel pump fuse is good, relay is new, I believe I need to noid my Injectors and pull my pump too see why it won't read?

Kinda sounds like number 1 fuel injector is dripping fuel... washed out the rings.

which engine do you have, Lima or Duratec?

2001 Ranger could have a 2.5l Lima, or a 2.3l Duratec, 4cyl engine

Which do you have?

Fuel injection computers have a software to "Clear a Flooded Engine" which is also good to test for leaking injectors

Turn key on
Press gas pedal down to the floor all the way and HOLD IT DOWN
Try to start engine

It should NOT start, it should not fire at all, the fuel injectors pluses are shut off, this is "Clear Flooded Engine" routine, spark is on injectors off

If engine fires or starts then an injector is leaking

If engine just cranks and doesn't fire then injector is not leaking

When you release gas pedal, even while cranking, injectors will start up
If engine fires and RPMs get above 400 computer will start injectors

I turn the key and held the gas pedal all the way to the ground. Truck turned over at full speed but never fired and never attempted to start

What I'm going to do Friday morning to the next time I drive the truck and I'm able to fix it is, but telescopic camera down the spark plug hole to see if the Piston is wet and that means the fluid is coming down from the valves or if it's dry the oils coming up from the piston?

So injectors are not leaking

Its oil either way, from the valve seals or rings

What engine?
2.5l SOHC
or
2.3l DOHC
