Hello,

I am tring to figure out what is causing a whistling sound on 1992 Ford 4X4 Ranger with 2.3 Liter Engine. The sound only occurs when under load from about 1500 RPM to 2500 RPM. If I let up on gas the sounds goes away. If it is some problem with the drive train then the sound should be made if everthing is rotating at that the speed the sound is heard when under load. Right ? I thinking exhaust or air intake but I can't make this sound unless I driving and under load (giving some gas). Any ideas ? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Tony

It's coming from somewhere in the intake.
