Hey guys I am in some serious need of ground clearance. i was wondering from the knowledgeable offroaders out there which type of lift kit would be best for me. i want 3-4" for now. but what i do not know is if i should go with suspension, or just a body lift for now:icon_confused:. i plan on doing the almighty sas and eventually a 4bt but i need something for the meantime. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. btw i would like to run atleast 33's or mabey bigger. low budget always helps as well. Matt.

crank your torsion bars, "free"
shackles in the rear, "50$"
that will give you about 1.5-2",
3"body lift, "200$"
and don't forget 33's will also give you lift
you should gain about 4" of ground clearance which is significant

T-bars KILL your "ground clearance". If I were you, I'd look for a coilover conversion kit or SAS the pig.

Anything over 33's and 4.10s I would regear.

How do torsion bars kill your ground clearance?

By their presence under the frame (along with the big huge crossmember they require).

A coilover conversion eliminates all that. However I agree if a SAS is in the plans, I wouldn't bother (doubting the coilovers you'd use on the IFS would work well on a straight axle, they'd be too short).

Crank the bars for another inch or two lift (don't go more than that though), add the 3" body lift and you should be good in the meantime.

you could always go interco LTB 34x10.5 they actually measure 33.6" but sometimes that half inch makes the difference or the intero SSR 33x12.50R15LT measure 33.4" and the ssr 285/75r16 measure 33.9" if you want something bigger than a 33,

but dont wanna deal with the maintenance associated with running 35" (hubs, bearings, cv's tie rod etc)
