which transmission do i have??

ok, 1983 ranger, 2.8, 5 speed. the 5 speed replaced the original 4 speed. 5 speed came from a b2. on mine, the shifting forks are only accessible by removing the bottom cover. most of the threads about forks problems say to get to them by removing the shifter cover. can't get to them that way on mine. trying to match mine up in the tech library, i thought i had an FM-145, but guess i'm wrong as i can't get to the forks from the top. yeah, they're stuck and trying to get them unstuck! not having much luck so far.

Does your transmission have a access plate on the bottom? If so then you are correct with it being a FM-145 or a 146. The M5OD-R1 has the top plate on it that has the shiftrails with it.

Coming out of an 85, then it probably is a TK5.
