which tow rig?

also im going to an auction this thursday to see what they have to offer. Maybe ill get a steal!

F-250 was nice, as expected. I could prob get it for 14,500. Gotta look into loans.

i personally would say the 2500 GMC. The motors get a decent amount of gas milage. My dads averages about 14 and his is stick. the 9.5 semi floater is a good rear end. you can still find the GM 14 bolt under the 2500HD (2002 and up) with the 6.0 and 4L80. all HDs with the Allison trans had the AAM 11.5

How many miles does the GMC have? sorry if its been repeated but the chevys are my specialty lol

Don't the gassers still come with the AAM10.5" while the D-max's have the AAM11.5?

yes the brand new body style because they got rid of the 8.1L. You can now only get the dmax or the 6.0 small block. but the between 2001 (when the HDs came out) to 2007 you could get the 8.1L w/ allison and the 11.5. that was the only gasser with the 11.5, the 6.0 HDs had the 10.5 and the 2500LDs or 1500HDs had the 9.5 semi float. Im not sure but i think the new MAXs come with a 9.5 semi float but in a six lug. i could be wrong there.

the gmc has 100k on it. It was pretty clean for a 2000. There was some fluid that looked to be weeping. It was the one drip collection at the engine x-member and the tranny pan. I guess a tranny line blew recently but that is the only thing that worried me.

i have a 250 for a work truck use it ocasinally for towing and that 5.4 in my opinion is really under powered for a 250 i would have to say the gmc forsure way more power

If i can get a loan for about 12,000 then ill probably get the F-250. Its got the extended cab which helps, and it was really clean. I plan to have it paid off within a year so the interest wont get me too bad. Probably sell the cap to get linex and a toolbox.

the 2000 gmc has the same hp, not sure on torque buts i think its real close.

its a 5.4 gasser. 300 hp and i believe 365 lbs./ft.

ya but i have used both with the company i work for and by far they way the gm is geard and setup off the line power will blow the doors off the ford nothin against fords by any means but the 5.4 i thnk wont compare to the gm for pullin thats just my experience with the to trucks and i wont even look at takin the ford out anymore i just use the chevy

only reason im still thinking the ford is its 5 years newer, got the manual, half the miles and has extended cab. The chevy did feel strong off idle though.
