soon i am to get a new set of tires for my truck. its a 2wd ford ranger with 4" suspension and 3" body and 4.56 gears

what it has came down to:
35/12.5/15 superswamper ssr
35/13.5/15 toyo open country mud terrains

does anyone have any pictures of their ranger or other vehical with these tires? i cant decide which to get. they are both pretty close to the same price.

i would think that toyos would be better for street and look slicker and the ssrs are more for offroad but they would look meaner

I vote Toyo's. Wider looks better to me, and they seem to hold up very well to street driving. I know quite a few guys that use them on hotshot trucks, and they work. But thats just my .02....

i can definately understand what you are saying. the width was a major part of my decision. and i kinda think they would go a little better with my truck because i have front and rear euro lights and clear corners and 20% tint. but idk. maybe a little more practical? the front tires arent pulling anyways

i was thinking that the toyos would be more quiet on the road

and that i would get more mileage out of them too.

i wonder how strong the sidewalls are...cause some people around here dont appreciate others property...

The SSR doesn't have the same sidwall strength as the regular TSL or the TSL/SX because its a radial tire. Plus I don't think a bias ply would stop you from slashing the sidewall anyway.

If its on the street get the Toyos.

yea my tires just got slashed by some douchebag. now i need new ones. im gonna have to say that the toyos are going to be my best bet. 2wd and about 80% street driving.

+1 on the tire slashing, it doesnt take much to get through any sidewall, if someone is going to slash your tires there isnt much you can do (as far as the tires are concerned anyways)
