I have a 68-302 block or the block which is in it? 85-302 or I found a 94 bare block to use? Im wanting really to build then just transplant is the reason for the extra 302’s. Its for a 331 stroker in an 87. I know I really need a later model block from what Ive learned about Texas inspection laws that if you engine swap it has to be an 87 or later mdl since the truck is an 87. Just alittle input and what your preference is?? Thanks fellas

If the 85 block is from a Mustang it would be a roller cam block, as would the 94. They'd both be one piece rear main seals and the lighter block. The outer row of head bolts go into the water jacket so you need sealer. The 68 block would have blind head bolt holes that wouldn't require sealer but it would also be the older, heavier block with a 2 piece rear main seal that I'd want to avoid.
