which radio would you pick?

Both of them are 70 dollars. My dad is getting me a new unit for my graduation. He introduce me to crutchfield.com and everything is cheap but great quality with his experience. if you looked at both pages they both had aux and usb ports but the dual was 17 watts apposed to 14. Also the dual has a 6 channel pre amp set up and like I said earlier I think the buttons on the pioneer look too cheap. Cd player I don't really need. Just my ipod. And down the line I plan on new speakers and and amp if I want it a bit louder. So bottom line. Between just those two links. Which one

Actually, no. On the Pioneer, click on the features and specs tab. It says:

Expandability

iPod Connection/Control No
AUX Input Front
USB Input No
Memory Card Slot No
A/V Inputs No
Bluetooth Compatible No
Satellite Radio Ready No
HD Radio No

I have a fancier Pioneer, one thing I like about it is a rear USB. It came with a cord to run it wherever you want. I have it running down my center console conglomeration to under the seat with a USB drive on it. It looks a lot cleaner than having either a cord or USB drive sticking out the front.

Pioneer has gone away from it, I wish they hadn't... I very much prefer it. 2 of the 3 radios I have purchased have been Pioneers and they work great for me... both still work fine.

I think they still do it on some of their models, I have the 410 UB Premier series and its got the back USB only. I love it too makes for a much cleaner display.:icon_thumby:

That would be nice. Mine has a damn IPOD bus on the back..... I would have preferred USB back there. My USB port is on the front. I'm always worried about my daughter smacking it and busting the jump drive or the face of the stereo.

I have been looking at getting one for my Ranger, I have only been able to find 1 and it was way more $$ than I wanted to spend... something like $600 IIRC.

I like the Pioneer's green face though, it actually goes with the other cab lighting... so there I sit stuck.

It might have been intended for an IPOD, plugging my Zune into it made the Zune shut off. Kinda blew it off but I got to thinking and threw some songs on a thumbdrive on a whim and it works perfect.

Yeah I wouldn't spend that much on a stereo for my truck, I got the blue because my trucks blue and I did the LED swap so it matches perfectly. I believe they switch the colors around every year because the next year the same deck had red lights. IDK :icon_confused:

so it came in and i got it all wired up. the thing sounds incredible and looks awesome. but now that i have a deck that can actually perform you can easily tell my speaks are lacking. i guess i'll have to wait till christmas. now i just have to get used to all the controls. my dad had this sub that he had in all his vehicles. an 8" boom tube. i'm gonna see if i can find a good spot for that bad boy and wire it up

Which one did you end up getting?

the deh 3300ub. i think its cool too how it knows what song is on the radio

i already do. it looks so funny though. everything about that interior says old and then theres my pioneer. soon to be a huge sub chillin in the back. the best thing is i will be able to take the bass out of the speakers so they dont get as distorted at loud volumes

Yeah, the sub control is very nice to have in the deck.

where do you think would be the best place to mount that bazooka tube. i want to be able to still keep the back seats fully functional but i want the sub to have the optimal sound. i know the speaker side should be right up against something so it can revirbirate, but theres not many options in our little trucks. i wish it would fit under the seats when folded down but it doesnt. i think my only option to keep the seats functional is right in the middle against the back wall. its not right up against a wall but its a small enough truck that it should still have plenty to bounce off right?

another option would be to only have one seat and put it right up against the drivers side wall
