Okay. If you've read my intro, wicked. If not, then here's the basics:

I have a 1993 Ranger XLT 4x4 with a 4.0L 5 speed that is bone stock apart from my stereo.
It is my Daily Driver, so it has to be streetable, and I want to be able to clear 33's. It'll mainly be used for pavement, with some gravel roads in between. I will occasionally take it onto the trails and I'm lost as to which lift I should install, and how much of a lift I'm going to need in order to clear the 33's. A few I know of are SkyJacker, Tuff Country, Rough Country, and AutoFab. I know there's more out there, but I'm lost as to which one will be the best for my application.

Any ideas............

Hands down the best lift would be the Skyjacker kit (strongest, best coils, probably softest ride) the the James Duff kit would be next. If you don't do too much serious 4x4'ing with it, i'd look into the Tuff Country kit or the Superlift kit.

The Skyjacker and Duff kits will ride better than the others, which should be considered since it's a DD. That said, you could use a cheaper kit and purchase the nice coils separately. You'll like need a 6" kit as well.

skyjacker for sure. save the money and buy the good shit, you will be glad you did.

To know how much lift your going to need to clear the tires, pay a visit to the technical library.

I'll help you out. Here you go.

For a 1993 4x4, your going to need about 6 inches of lift according to the page if you don't want to trim your fenders, I think the front bumper might get in the way, not sure.

I would recommend a 4 or so inch suspension lift and then a 2-3 inch body lift.

Okay, so I've decided to go with a SkyJacker Class II 4" lift kit. Aside from the kit, am I going to need any additional parts (Camber/Castor shims etc.)??

A 4" lift will clear 33s nicely. And I agree, Skyjacker is the way to go. As far as camber/caster shims go you shouldn't need any. But you'll need an alignment shop to tell you for sure after you put the lift on.

You probably will need some caster/camber shims... It's a good idea to get some anyway so you can adjust it when you change your mind down the road. :icon_thumby:

Change my mind about what?

The way you built it. If you're modifying it now, it's almost a guarantee that you'll want to change something else down the road...

Go with the 6" lift on the extended cab from skykacker, it will give u around 4 1/2 " of lift
