looking at two vehicles both $400 to build a mild pre runner dd out of

94 ford explorer 4x4, red, some body damage but nothing glass wont cover, broken rear pass side window and two broken tail light and a flat tire, but runs awesome and has 5spd tranny with new clutch and has a title $400

87 ford ranger 2x4, 2.9, 5 spd, standard cab short bed, tan in color inside and out, motor rebuilt with new heads, has no title or even a old registration, and no plates on it lol also $400

so what do i do??? go through the hassle of trying to get a title or do i just get the explorer put it in my name, i have no kids or friends so seating is no biggy lol

o i also live in nevada, hows the title crap work here if you know

thanks

Explorer, no question.

the ranger would be fun to work out, but yeah i would take the explorer

well shoot 4-0 in about 15 min....

Single cab trucks suck... They have no room and ride like junk. The explorer is newer, better looking, has a better motor and axles and doesn't have the paperwork issues the truck does.

Definitely the Explorer, mostly because I want to see a prerunner SUV:D

Exploder and chop the rear top off.:icon_thumby:

I thought one of the things people wanted in prerunners was low weight?

If so the Ex wouldn't be as good as the Ranger in that dept, especially since it also has a much higher center of gravity. Most guys even prefer 2wd so it would lose there too.

Dunno how cab configuration effects ride, my std cab rides pretty good.

1st gen Ranger blows anything other RBV away for looks, that is a personal opinion.

Based on what litte I have picked up on prerunners, I would keep looking for a 2wd Ranger that runs with a title.

Id go with the explorer. I like the look of the ranger better, but it sounds like less of a deal. Plus like someone said, the axles! Although prerunners dont usually need 4x4, unless you want to make it a little bit of a trail runner as well.
