You'll need the 6" to clear 33's unless you are going to trim up the fenders.

Go with the 4" suspension lift and then install a 2" body lift. That's the setup I'm currently running on my Explorer.
This will allow you to run the 33s, while keeping your CG low and your steering system in good shape.
