My credo
A properly suspensioned Ranger can be safely airborne for up to 4 seconds at a time! =:O
I think we all know which forum is best for Rangers and RBVs, but which forum is of similar quality and performance (over style) orientation for the Mustang?

Aspiring Gearheads need to know, lol... ;') :icon_welder:

Thanks in advance. :icon_cheers:

They break them down by era...."classic", mustangII, foxbody and SN-95, and the recent stuff.

The one I have been using lately is http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forums/
There seems to be a lot of the parts suppliers there for your support and questions. They also cover all the years. See a lot of them swaping out their 40 year old rear ends for either the Ranger or Explorer rear ends. Of course the Explorer heads and intakes are a hot item at any Mustang site. Lots of interchanging of parts is available thanks to Ford.

OK, no consensus yet, but... KEEP 'EM COMING!

PS: What makes Explorer heads and intakes (I'm assuming 5.0 V8?) so desirable?

The Explorer heads are the best cast iron heads that Ford made for the 302/5.0, they do require different headers. The intakes are styled after the Cobra types, better than the GT, larger TB also.

www.corral.net

site can be slow at times because of the shear volume. but i've all ways found the answers to my questions on corral.

the explorer heads, are the same cast from the GT40 cylinder heads that came on 1993 mustang cobras. so a nice little gain is obtained. aswell as the upper/lower intake manifold found on the same explorers. 96-7 explorers are regular gt40 and dont require regular headers. but after those years they were gt40p heads. that will require a special set of headers for sparkplug clearance.. the intake manifold does have a larger throttlebody. but it will require a few modifications to work on a mustang.

Mustangforums.com is the best imo. ive been on there for a few years

stangnet isnt to bad either. but ive never really liked it much

and if your a 4eye mustang guy (79-86) like me. then go to foureyedpride.com

WOW, I find it highly ironic that ANY year Explorer--aka "the family wagon of the 90s"--would have better top-end "breathing apparatus" than ANY year of the "sporty" MUSTANG... WTH?

FoMoCo must be one seriously screwed up bureaucracy, eh?

and he's right by the way the gt40P heads with the revised plug and the intake they have is vastly superior to a 5.0 mustang. they also dont have egr smog ports in the back. the intake is a cast version of the cobra/gt40 family. look it up its definitly a common combo

OK, how about for just the "Fox body" 'stangs, which IIRC, are Model Years 1987-93... what's the killer website for those?
