Which columns will work?

My donor came without a dash or column. Its a 2000 EB AWD 5.0 expo. Going into a 2wd 5spd manual Ranger. I need a column with the shifter. Can i get one out of something like an 07 Explorer or a 11 Ranger, or does it have to be the same type ?

Staying as close to the donor year as possible will be best for the electronics you are missing.

As far as physical fitment anything from 95 to 11 for Rangers and 95 to 01 for Explorers should fit.

An 07 Explorer would have a floor shifter.

I've only dropped the column a frew times for the heater core and cleaning purposes. How hard is it to disconnect a column? Any special tools required? @adsm08 @19Walt93 @fastpakr or anyone else who may have pulled a column before

Hi so it very simple you know how to drop the column already so all you have to do is get the through bolt at the bottom of the column (small pry bar they can be stubborn) it's inside the truck and make sure you unhook the gear selector and the small cable from the cluster its held in with a 7 mm if memory serves me wright then just unplug the wiring hope I helped.
