I went and got myself a little vacuum gauge id like to mount in my 1999 4.0 XLT. Its a sunpro retro Vacuum gauge, and i tested it the line that runs to the EVAP service port, but i only got 5 Hg, no where near what it should be. Is there a better place to tap into, or is something wrong? I tested this on a cold start up and only ran it for a few seconds. Id like to make sure this gauge works properly before i go through the hassle of installing the lines and wiring. Does anyone know a good place to run the hose, i found what looks like an access panel on the far side of the firewall on the drivers side, could i run a hole through that? Thanks for any input!

you want the vaccum gauge coming DIRECTLY off the intake manifold, thats the only way you will get a accurate reading

Found the problem, the bulb in the back of the gauge was preventing the needle from moving, now reading at 23 hg, nice. Thanks for the reply.
