Hi all new here. I've called numerous places with no real answers about their long blocks and they want an arm and a leg for them.

My question is, who's got a 2.9 with the good heads and is reasonably priced?

Also if I can't find a 2.9, what exactly do I need to do for the 4.0?

Welcome to TRS :)

2.9l hasn't been made for 24 years
4.0l OHV for 16 years
So parts will be scarce and often expensive from some sources

may want to also post in the "Wanted to buy" section here: http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=173

Rebuilding is best choice, but call local machine shops, they often have better contacts for older blocks and heads.

There is some info here on 4.0l OHV conversions: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/index-engine-fuel.shtml

You are switching from a MAP(speed density system) to a MAF system so need extra stuff from 4.0l engine bay besides engine, computer and wiring harness

Pending on if your local Im getting rid of my excellent running 2.9l. Im not looking at gettting rid of it yet but if your local and ready for it i could change my time table. Im in Arkansas FYI.

probably $300, let me know.
