I have an 86 Ranger 2.9L, and when I bought the truck the heater box, the plastic housing that the blower motor and resistor mount to, was missing. I have searched high and low, at every junk yard in town and quite a few out of town, and I just cannot locate this part. Even Google can't help me. My truck did not come with the A/C option, and I'm assuming that my heater box is supposed to look like the one in the photo seen "here" on TRS.com Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for the tip; I'll do another sweep of the salvage yards and see if I can find one of those. It gets kinda cold in my truck without a blower motor for my heater, so if I can find a box I would be very happy.

i used a non ac setup from a g van on my b2 when i was pressed for time before. they could work good for motor swaps too because they are metal and easy to weld.

of course that could be harder to find then a ranger box depending on where you live.

An AC heater box while much more bulky will work too, just plug the holes for the evaporator lines.

They seem to be a lot more common in the yards around me than the non-AC boxes.
