ok, so my truck has its obvious clunks, rattles and shakes... what else would you expect for being 14 years old??... but some are more annoying than others... i have one noise that drives me crazyyyyy , like border lined mental institution material.. only occurs at highways speeds.. well it comes and goes but once i reach highway speeds it wont go away.. it sounds like theres a bumble bee trapped in my dash.. haha.. somewhere on the passenger side in the dash area, its like a buzz.. i have no idea how to describe it really... lol.. but anyways i pulled the glove box... a-pillar molding, loosened the bolts in the dash.. pulled and pushed on everything and you cant get it to go away... does anyone have annnyyy idea where it could be coming from, i tried everything.. and im totally lost here... where the helll is it coming from???

Oh boy, finding rattles.

Aside from what you're already doing, the only solution is to fill the truck with ANFO and drive it to a remote, deserted spot and.....well, you can guess.

There's some sort of out side air vent behind the dash on the passenger side. I am not too fimilar with it because I've never had to take it apart. I would be willing to bet that whatever is causing that noise is somewhere in that vicinity.

I gotta rip my apart soon, I noticed a couple leaves blowing out from under the dash. I imagine something needs cleaned out .

yeah thats the only thing i can think of, something to do with a vent or along that area... just friggin drives me that i cant make it stop..lol.. ya think if you pounded on everything hard enough, something would change... but nooo sirrr

Pound hard enough and you're likely to break something else loose then you'll really go nuts. Only solution I can think of is to turn the radio up loud enough so that you can't hear it.

Get on the highway, have a friend drive as you disassemble that corner of the cab till you find it.

I dont know how much a stethoscope might help?

or just a piece of rubber tube stuck up next to your ear. i can see it now, hes laying on the passengers seat, upside down, with his head under the dash. meanwhile, his buddy is going 75mph down the local freeway. it would be funny to look over and see somebody's feet where there head should be

haha yeah im thankful i got a 12" sub in my truck.. and my swampers are not the quietest on the highway... but i cant always have the music blasting, that gets annoying after a while... yeah i had my dad drive it down the highway while i tore it apart, but still no luck.. i can see this turning into one of those "have to live with" things... lol

My girlfriends Sable has that same rattle. Right behind the instrument cluster it sounds like. Cant figure it out.
