where is everyone from ny??

newbie from rochester

i just picked up a 1989 ext. cab with factory lift 4x4 2.9l motor looking foward to personallizing my new toy .

I will be moving to Ft. Drum NY in the next couple of months and looking for some ranger clubs and trails to start out on, any one know of the area?

Southerntier here, Not far from the PA border.

Some pretty good wheelin here, all private land though.

Some logging trails that are on sides and tops of some pretty good hills, but not sure what would happen if you get caught on them.

The DEC (my friend Chris) would fine you for unlawful trespassing on a controlled area. Logging is serious shit in NY, very strict.

i live in rochester, ny and am a member of team mudnuts 4x4 club (mudnuts.org)
we are in the process of finding new places to wheel that aren't so far from home. we normally make the treck to rauch creek in pa. we also go to whispering pines which is in lyons ny, about 1/2 hour toward syracuse from rochester. i have a jeep and a ranger, we don't discriminate but we do have a lot of jeeps in the club.
we usually go to whispering pines once a month, rauch creek also about once a month. usually open to another few rigs if you ever want to join us. the website has a calander and upcoming events section in the forum. it is up to date so take a look and let someone know if you'd like to join us. there is a ride to both places on either june 13or14.

Which clubs are you referring to? Are you on wnymudders.com. It's lame but they are trying.

Tonawanda here too. I've heard almost all the places that used to exist are pretty much blocked off now, patrolled, or now private land. I know where we used to ride dirt bikes when I was a kid (Hamburg) are all gone now, blocked off or turned into housing developments.

You can still get behind the Ford plant pretty easily off Bayview Road. Hit it from 5, the turn left at the tracks.

I didn't think it was still open. You go up the dead end road still? I know they blocked off the enterance by the tracks years ago.

I know you may still be able to get some mud in Lackawanna, and my buddy knows a spot in LA/W.S. area too; but I'm not sure about the later anymore, haven't seen them in a year or so.

LA/WS Area is Fisher road off of Abbott. Run it to the end and go. You can also get a bit of play area at the end of Willett off of South Park near the LA/ Blasdell line. If you go off the end of Willett, go past the signs and run to the left along the thruway. When you get near the creek turn left again and cross the creek. The area back there is ok sized and goes all the way to Abbott road. Not much in the line of trails though.

You can also go off the tracks next to the Convenient on Abbott near Martin. You'll see the little road running up there. Turn right and follow the tracks to the trail. Be ready to have a friend pull you out, it can be challenging.

The blockade by the tracks on Bayview is no longer there.

I wish I lived in Binghamton. Living that close to Gary's would be quite amazing. I have to drive 40 miles just to get cheap parts.

I live like 10 min away. They do have a good selection of RBV stuff there. I haven't been there since last summer cause I havent broke anything on my Ranger. They dont have anything for my DD Dakota since its newer. I wont go to Dons, that place is a ripoff!
