1996 ranger, I just put new headlights in and I need to find where I can run my projector lights to a switch through the firewall.

Emergency brake cable usually has enough room.
Might even have the old speedo cable hole, 1994 was last year of the speedometer cable.

You should use a relay in the engine bay so you only need one small wire to the switch.

12volts(5amp fuse)------Relay-----(firewall)--------switch---Ground(in cab)

12volt Relay activation is less than 1 amp so you can add it to an already fused circuit, a key on or 24/7 circuit

My fog lights came with a fuse on the wiring before the switch. Would it be a bad idea to run them on my running lights? I don't want to mess any of my existing electrical system up. So I figured I'd just use the switch.

Also the fog lights are in the headlights. They are projector fog lights.
