I have a 4 x 4, long bed, dual tank, single cab 87 ranger. I went out and found a spare tire and wheel for my truck as that it did not have one when I bought it. My other ranger was single tank and had the spare tire mount under the bed. Other than the spare mount in the bed where else can I mount the tire? I want to keep as much bed as possible. I am not into the pre runner thing. :icon_confused:

The factory dual tank Rangers mounted the spare tire Vertically inside the bed on the drivers side forward against the head-gate.

I modified one of these mounts to mount the tire at the back of the bed against the tailgate, because the 237/75 tires I run will not fit between the rear wheel tubs and the headgate, but it does fit against the side of the bed behind the wheel tub.

Plus the fact I have a homemade toolbox in the front of my bed... and when I have a full bed worth of stuff an d the cap on, a spare mounted in the front of the bed might as well be at home... back just inside the tailgate it is still accessable.

Mounted vertically against the bed side it is also in a blind spot to the driver, so
it has no affect on view to the rear or to the side...
