Where can I get a standard rear brake drum puller?

Here is where it would hook to

None of the three-jaw pullers I've used would reach down there and hook- that's why I think you'd have to weld extensions onto the jaws to reach.

Oh okay because i have use them for the same purpose as the original poster ask help for and never had problem with this method ....

First and foremost, I'd like to thank everyone for their input so far.
If I spent enough time on the drum I'm sure it would come off without the puller but if a tool makes my life easier I like to have it around. I still have tools that I bought when I was 15 so I don't mind spending the money knowing I'll probably have it for life if it doesn't break.
Now the puller in question looks similar to a typical 3 jaw puller but it reaches approx 12 inches and has different tips than a the regular puller.
Here is the tool in question but the so-called sources to get one are no good.

I guess I'll just have to pick a day when the weather is mild and I have no plans to just get a six pack and spend the time it takes to muscle it off.

are you sure its not getting caught on the shoes? does it have any movement at all?

That is a very good question, and the one I've been asked the most.
It spins free with no movement at all (besides spinning) so it's definitely stuck on the hub.
I've only run into this once before and once I got the drums off I put a thin coating of anti-sieze on the hub.
That prevented it from ever happening again for the remaining 7 years I owned the car.

ok well i ask because i've had drums that were severely stuck because they were worn so badly the shoes got caught on the lip at the edge. had to chisel off the nail heads and collapse the shoes inward and it came off.

can you sand the hub clean where it is catching?

you could try shortening the star gear on the brake i had to do it once i was a retard(don't wanna talk about it) just flat head and pry on it in the right direction to shorten it.

i do remember that in your posts sorry i drank a bit tonight and forget things it is stuck on the hubs but a 3lb. sledge will help. it was embarrassing when my wife smacked me and reminded me what you said. my bad dude

That might actually help once I get it to start moving if it won't come the rest of the way off.
But, usually once it starts moving it isn't that hard to pull it the rest of the way off.

No probem, I have groups of days like that...I call them weeks.
Then I arrange them into months.:icon_twisted:
I used a big hammer but not with enough force to distort the drum.

For the record, I don't need to change the brakes right now(i think).
It's just that I've never been inside the rear drums of this truck and I just want to inspect and clean them.
So, I have a little time to wait for a nice day and give it another try.
This weekend was crappy so I didn't even touch it.
I don't want to give anyone the impression that my truck is down and this is some kind of emergency.
I'm just getting the tools ready before I go at my next attempt.
I'm also waiting for my new Ingersol Rand impact gun to arrive so I can try it out and really be lazy:icon_thumby:
I just hate doing thing twice or starting things unprepared, so I just want what I think I'll need before I go at it head first. Then, if things don't go right I'll go ape chit on it and just fix whatever I break in the process.:icon_hornsup:

I actually thought about finding a place that does free brake inspection just so they can break the drums free then take it home and do everything else myself.

thats what i would do. funny. they would probably **** up your wheel studs though
