i was at the lucas oil off-road race and as i walked the pits all of the trophy truck teams had stacks of these tires:
untitled-3.jpg

the tread was really simple like that, assymetrical, with a few rows of longitudally-lined lugs and the rest of the tire was covered with transversely-lined lugs all of which were about an inch and a quarter wide.
they were 35x15.50-17's and the sidewall said "BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A" but i know that was just the carcass that tread was layed on because as you can see in the picture the tread is considerably different than your standard bfg mud terrain t/a

i really want some. any clues where to get them?

Unless you're on a pro race team, I doubt you could buy them. Plus, in order for you, me & the other average Joe, they'd have to be DOT approved.

yes i am fully aware of race/sponsor only tires. i was just hoping to find some take-offs or something you know?

those bfg's in the second link are just like the ones they use in the baja race. i was hoping to find these specific tires

see if you can contact one of the race teams you saw? just ask where they get em, and maybe offer to pay them for some old ones.

They will be expensive you know even for the takeoffs. Some teams spend 5-10 + on tires and those are custom cut retreads most likely. If not they are considerably more expensive.

yeah those are the other tires that they were running too, but those were made by "general" i think. most of the guys were running the tires i drew the pic of

thats 400 bucks a tire for a 31??
u dont even want to know what the Kevlar lined 39x13.5x17s cost then do u :bawling:
It might be an offroad champion tire, but it looks lame for a street vehicly, stick with my toyo open country mt's until I go pro.

they are amazing street tires. we normally get around 50k miles of street use on them on our superduty chase trucks.

my tires in the pic above are the 35x12.5x17 bfgoodrich mud-terrain TA KR the tires u saw would have said bfgoodrich mud-terrain TA KR not just TA. the KR or KRT means its a race only tire and they are not on bfgs website and cant be sold to the public. the 15.5in version that u saw are designed for the rears and comes non groved with larger voids so you can grove it for your particular track. they normaly run the same ones i have on the front and then grove them up with more lateral cuts to help turning.
