I want to get some plain black wheels from summit racing for my 02 4x4 xlt ranger. The question I have is what backspace do I want?

I am getting 16x8.. I want them to stick out past the factory flare... I love when I go four wheeling for my truck to get muddy.

Right now I can go through a 2 ft deep sloppy mud pit with my tires spinning the whole time and theres barely any mud on my truck... just in the wheel wells and under the truck. I have fun getting it muddy.

So what offset would push them out like 1 1/2 - 2 inches past the factory flares?

Any help appreciated.. thanks.

P.S. I searched for a while... just couldnt find it.. hope this hasnt already been answered.

Wheels with less than 3.50" of backspacing will do what you want them to, be careful not to go to wild with backspacing the more they stick out the more stress your going to be putting on your wheel bearings and that's going to cause them to wear out faster, and your also going to have clearance problems when your flexing (tires rubbing on your fenders)
