will the wheels from a 1988 ranger fit my 2002 ranger

The bolt circle will work, but the diameter might cause problems. What size are the wheels from the 88? It seems like most of the wheels from that era are 14s. If that's the case, then I wouldn't risk it. Starting in 01, Ford increased the brake rotor size, which required 15 inch wheels or better on most trucks.

Depends on the '88. 15" wheels, maybe. 14" wheels, no. There's also some differences in the center hole diameter, but I think the older ones are larger so that hopefully won't be an issue.

Nothing better than trying it one afternoon.

They are 15's As the 88 is 4x4 the center won't be a problem.

I was going to touch on that. I tried bolting a 14" to the front of my 1993 4x4. it didn't work.( I only needed it to hold up the truck to I could plastidip). The 4x4 hub was to big for the center hole in the rim.
