Ok. So i swapped my axle. My truck is a 97 i swapped one in from a 99 not thinking about 98 and up being third gen. Well the problem i have is the rims i have ofcourse are from before 98 so they won't fit over the hub. Are the any places out there that sell reduction plates to step down the 1/4 inch it's off? The wheel studs match the holes it's just the center bore hole that goes over the hub that is giving me fits. I need a cheap fix i can't afford new rims.

i assume youre talking about your rear axle? 93-97 is 3rd gen ranger. unfortunately ive never heard of anyone having issues with the hub on a rear axle so i cant be of much help.

Yes. The rear. I didn't think about it but i know these rims came off an F150. Maybe that has to do with it. I don't know what year though.

Dan

No F150 wheel will fit on a Ranger axle, regardless of year. The bolt patterns are different. Ranger has always used 5x4.5 and F150 used 5x5.5 until 96 then switched to metric 5 lug then switched to 6 lug in 2009.

Hmm. I don't know. I though for sure i saw somewhere on the rim it was stamped with it. Then again they had some rust to them so i could be wrong. I do know for sure they are a stock Ford rim as i clearly recall seeing the Ford logo stamped. I still can't figure it out. I might pull one of my tires and try sticking a stock rim up and see if it will match. I wish i could figure this out, i'm hesitant to even find rims until i know what on earth is up.

I'll get some tomorrow. I'm going to be tinkering with it anyhow and seeing what i can come up with. I think me and a friend have got an idea how to make it work. We think this rearend may have come out of a 4wd ranger rather then a 2 and we aren't sure if that is playing into it.
