Wheel hub assembly or bearings?

So there is a noticable grinding sensation from both front wheels that I can feel in the steering wheel but there isn't any horrible noiseassociate with it but I assumed this has something to do with the wheel bearings. I had them done once before when the bits inside the bearing actually fell out and the wheel looked ready to fall off, and I want to avoid that mishap again while saving the $700 dealer bill.. I've been trying to figure out without tearing into the truck if the wheel bearings are part of the wheel hub assembly or if they are seperate entities within the front axle assembly on my '04 4x4.. Any ideas?

It is a complete bearing/hub assembly. Non serviceable.

So I can just replace the whole unit? that would be SO much easier than taking everything apart..

Yes, you HAVE to replace the entire unit, it does not come apart. 3 bolts hold it to the knuckle.

Yep very simple repair.

remove wheel.
remove caliper and caliper bracket bolts.
take of rotor
remove axle nut
take 3 bolts out of the back of the hub/bearing
remove assembly and replace in reverse order.

Couple minute job if exsperianced.
Probably an hour for a first timer.

For wheel hub assembly? I bought my own for 200 to save off mechanics 360 wanting.. I was toldby a friend I'd need specialized tools only a shop would have so I brought it to a store... 180 for the Job. 1 wheel hub assembly. 4 wheel abs one of course. I got ****ed hah...

God.. Now i have to figure out why all of a sudden my steering grinds at hard turn, not full but like 2/3-3/4 turn. It makes that noise all old steering makes but now itsgrinding during most turns.
