Wheel Bearings??

My Girlfriend has a 90 BII n I think the Drivers Side Front
wheel bearings r bad.. How hard is it to replace them??

Its making this Grinding, Clicking Sound.. I was in it when
it starting to make the sound, I made her pull with in 3 miles.

Local Pep Boyz said $250 Parts n Labor.. How Hard is it to do??
Do I need any Special Parts??

I just changed the wheel bearings in my 86 BII. Cost about $70 for the bearings and grease seals. Took a couple hours to change them out. I am assuming the spindle wasn't damaged in the process of a bearing burning up. Hard to even find the spindles anymore.

You will need a lock nut socket. I think those are running in the $40 range.

Where are you buying your parts. You are getting ripped off man. $12 a bearing x4, $5 a piece for dust seals x2, $5 for a tube of grease, $24 for a lock-nut socket.

If you need to replace the rotors, find out the build date, mid year change messed me up. Personally I wouldn't let Pep Boys work on it. Auto Zone has a good exploded view of it on their site. I changed calipers, rotors and bearings on mine pretty cheap, just took some time.

Napa. Couple of the bearings were the premiums because they didn't have the cheapies in stock. Maybe I spent $68 on bearings, races and seals? I bought my lock nut socket almost 12 years ago. I thought it was about $40. Could be wrong, That's why I said I THINK.

Either way it is to cheap and easy to do to take it to a shop and drop $250.

Socket was about $ 23 dollars last week.If you do it yourself you'll know it's not slapped together without care.If your spindle is no good I just took my 28 out last week still have a spindle sitting here and easy to ship if you decide to go that way P.M. me.
