is there a way to jsut get a new bearing not the whole hub assy? or am i jsut SOL and gotta fork over $300 for a new assy

You might be able to find just the bearing. However taking the assembly apart will probably entail a fair amount of time, cutting and grinding. you will also need access to a press thats good for at least thirty tons. If you are a succer for pumishment then go for it, otherwise it's so much easier to just cough up the cash and change the whole assembly.

ok then my other question. can i get away with jsut changing the one thats bad with a junkyard one? or do i ahve to change both out

Just change the one thats bad. It's impossible to predict how long these things will last, sometimes they will last for years, other times they will be bad in very short time.

that was from oreilly. and they were the cheapest bout $300 eacha dn he didnt wanna sell me jsut one. but good ole junkyard got me one for $75 and i got er fixed today
