My "radiator cover thing" got damaged last week after running over one of these:

Stupid truckers and their POS exploding tires.:flipoff:

The lower half of the front bumper got scraped up, it ripped my front license plate off, damaged my PA speaker (mounted right behind license plate) and pushed the speaker into the AC condenser.

Things on my fix-it list:
  • New lower front bumper
  • New license plate bracket
  • Go to DMV, fill out forms for lost plate, pay $25 for new plates :temper:
  • Test AC and hope the condenser is just dented and not leaking, replace if necessary
  • Remount PA speaker
  • And finally, replace the "radiator cover thing"

I don't want to walk to the parts department asking for a radiator cover thing, spend 15 minutes explaining what I'm talking about, only to get a weird stare from the parts guy. It's a plastic cover that protects the whole bottom of the radiator. This is the only pic I have of it right now:

Might be an air dam, not sure. Most of the time if you walk up to the parts counter and describe it they can figure it out, or at least get an exploded diagram of the area and get it from there.

Dang man - that sucks. Every night I drive about 20 miles to my kid's gym and back. I see those re-treads coming off every summer. As soon as the weather gets hot, they start flying.

I think its the airdam/air deflector too.

Per LMC....

Maybe #8? I looked under bumpers and saw a few airdams and chin spoilers...Didnt look like what you need.

Nah, that's not it. Thanks for looking though. This is for my 06 Ranger. A little update: I had called DOT a few days ago, told them I lost my plate, and told them to call me if they found it. They just called a few minutes ago and said they found it! :yahoo: I'm going down to their garage this afternoon and pick it up. Saved myself $25 and a lot of hassle at the DMV.

More updates: Got my plate back from DOT. The plate bracket looks pretty intact, so I'll probably reuse it. Removed my radiator deflector thing and took it with me to the Ford dealer. After a few minutes of looking, the parts guy finally found it in the computer. It cost $55. :icon_surprised: I got the part number and said I'd get back to him. I also got the part number and price on the lower front bumper. $128.28, which is less than I expected. I'll still do some shopping around before buying anything.
