I've come across this 9" at a j-yard where my buddy works. And I can't for the life of me figure out what it came from.
-It's not full width
-5x 5.5" bolt pattern
-Disc brakes
-4 link setup (Ford stamps on arms)
-Coil sprung with shocks
-Factory locker w/ 4.68 gears

Everything is factory, not a custom setup, all parts have Ford stamps and part#s.

The only nine inch that ever left the factory with disc brakes was in a Lincoln Versailles. They were 5X4.5 bolt pattern, leaf sprung, werent available with any ratio lower than 3.00 and very few of them had a trac-lok. I'd say that you're looking at a axle that has been modified.

if it is factory, then the 4 link and coils mean its from a car. Finding out which car is the fun part. Whats the WMS to WMS width? Spline count? ect. The more info the better.

It might have all Ford #'s, but the internals and disc brakes may have been swapped onto from another donor, I know I played swap the parts at the junkyard to "build" the axle I wanted without the high pricetag, since the axle was priced for the part, not what was in it...
