So im lookin through rockauto.com (good parts site btw) and i need a RABS thingy. so i get into the brakes section and there are a few choices for ABS

first is the ABS Hydraulic Unit, shown as pic #1. second there is an ABS Modulator, shown as pic #2. Now to me, they look exactly the same, yet the price difference is a hundred freakin dollars!!...ok so i exagerated, its like $60 and some change. Is there a difference?...winters comming, i think having abs would be a good idea. Thanks for any help.

is the modulator actually bad or could it be just the sensor in the rear end? is the abs light on? just thinking from a parts guy point of view but the sensors are much more likely to fail than the modulator unless you had some shitty brake fluid run through it or it got smashed up or heated up?

The modulators often rust closed. The effect is a silent loss of rear brakes and a complete inability to bleed them.

I agree these look THE SAME. There is only one valve in an RABS application.

oh yea shes all stoved up. we tried to bleed through it when i replaced the entire line going from the master to the rear end and she wouldnt budge.

by one valve do you mean that there is only one round thing sticking up? i coulda swore the one we took off my truck had 2, but that was also 2 months ago.
