What's the biggest towed?

I don't have the largest towed, but maybe the distance is near the top. We had a 21 foot fifthwheel RV, around 4800# loaded, and did close to 50K miles over a three year period. No extra stuff on the truck, other than a 5th hitch. The reat was all factory ordered. Nice trucks theses Rangers.

ive only towed once but it was a 25 mile trek pullin my grandpas 2500hd with no driveshaft, ranger never bitched, squeaked or moaned. no problems at all. i enjoyed the looks from ppl when they saw a so called 'mini truck' pullin that monstrosity. but all in all its always a good day when a ford is pullin a chevy.

The biggest I've towed was an 88 ranger xlt...It had no rear end in it and the bed was off so I hung it from my truck just to tow it to the backyard...lol, I know...stupid idea

I just pulled my neighbors big ass GMC full sized van today about 7 miles to the shop. He was broke down on a hill facing upwards and was parked in gravel. Through it in 4 Low/2nd gear to get going and didn't even spin the tires. Pulled it like a champ. Some guy in a full size diesel pulled up before we got moving and asked if my neighbor wanted a " REAL TRUCK " that could pull his van to tow him up the hill and too a shop. He said no and the guy started to laughed at me till I started pulling like it was nothing. Smart ass full size truck owners!

Lol, Nice

I towed my 99 Cobra plus all my clothes and crap from Texas on a car hauler with my Ranger. Had an Equilizer hitch. Wasn't fast, but eventually got up to speed, did 75 most of the time on the interstate. Had trailer brakes. Had to weigh in after, Gross weight (without my 250 pound ass in the seat) was 10,500 pounds.

Used it multiple times to haul scrap metal over the summer, regular crossed the scales at a gross of 9500 pounds or better.

Also entered it in a truck pull in the 5000 pound class. Threw 500 pounds of tractor weights in the bed and hooked up! Went 232 feet before I spun out, since I'm on crappy BFG Long trails. Crowded laughed at first, but were cheering me on in the end! Pretty funny experience, plan on doing it more.

6 mexicans is the most ive towed, i did pull a 86 volvo out of sand that it was sunk into

3 round bales of hay on a 16ft trailor 2 slid in crossways and one in longways so they wouldn't roll off.
2000 Ford ranger 4x4 auto ext cab.

I have pictures on my cell of it with 40 round bales in the bed if I knew how to upload photo's to big pictures off my desktop.

sadly i lost all my pics

but with my 90 ranger before it went under the knife i hauled 3K of bricks 50 miles on the highway.... made it to 5th gear and 75mph the whole way. good ole 2.3 :D

89 ranger, 2.9,3.73's,posi and 31's i pulled a 1/2 chebbie 70 miles home...my buddys got it for 300$ and on the way home it caught fire lol.

93 exploder stock. i towed a 1500 pound trailer with my my dads 2000 pound tool box, welder, bumper stands,300 pound cart and a few other small things. stopping and starting were slow...my clutch wasnt happy but i did it. managed 60 the whole way and 5th gear at 55mph going up hill :D

i also pulled a 3/4 dodge on 35's that was stuck on a snowy road with my 92 exploder sport. 3.73's 31's and a posi rearend

Towing

If i had a pic of everything that ive towd with my 94 2wd ext cab 2.3L 5sp. u guys would shit! i pulled a 75 or so jeep j20 wedged on my 16 ft tralier 65 miles and at 65mph. i bought a 91 2wd ranger for my dad and pulled it from Moberly mo to Bonne Terre mo that's 212 miles one way, 3 hrs to get there. tell me i was cuttn the lil 2.3 slack lol. ive got a weigh in slip for 10,800 and the clearence mo scrap yard. it's funny as hell when you go to pull up on the scales with a ranger weighn that and it's not squattin. guy in front of me had a 01 2500 hd and had half the load i did. he made circles around my truck tryn to figure out what it had in it and what was under the bed helpn it set level with that much weight. anybody who dnt beleive that it deserves super duty badges on it let me no lol. truck is a 94 2wd 5 spd 2.3L ext cab 20thousands shaved head cold air, throttle body, electric fans, centerforce stage 2 clutch, flashed pcm, 373 posi 8.8, add a leafs trailer brakes, and air shocks. a few more im proally forgettin . Im having trouble getting it on the comp. but if anybody wants to see a pic of how tuff it is let me no and i will send you some pics off my phone. Id be lost without it. it's my dd and it has 291,000 and still goin stronger than ever

biggest thing ive ever towed was a big ass tandem axle enclosed trailer with 3 quads and a few dirtbikes. with my bosses 92 reg cab 2.3 stick ranger.

towed like a dream. no trailer brakes, and not too sketchy. did 60 on the interstate no problem.

the heaviest i ever crossed the scales at was 23,500 lbs. considering my scrap rig weighs in at 8500 thats 15,000 pounds of scrap!!! prices were high, scrap was plentiful, oh the good ole days:icon_twisted:

truck used was a 95 dodge half ton shortbox, i have nothing bad to say about dodge trucks except for a few little minor things, i have hauled too many heavy loads of scrap with dodge trucks to say anything bad about them...

This is probably the most I have towed with my Ranger; it is a 16ft trailer with hydraulic tilt, and the two golf cart were about 900 lbs each. Way to much tounge weight but not as bad as I thought it would be.IMG]http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv271/GMC83/RANGER/rangertrailer1.jpg[/IMG]
