Was picking up some parts today at autozone for the "new to me" '89 Ford Ranger and ran across a couple of repair manuals. Got to thinking one of these may be a good investment for someone who knows next to nothing about vehicles, but interested in doing their own small repairs.

There were CHILTON manuals and HAYNES manuals. Any suggestions which might be the best for a rookie, or possibly some other type book ?

I had a Haynes and liked that one (was for my old 1990), but have not had a Chiltons; so I cannot compare them for you.

I have a Haynes. Like stated above, I've never had a Chiltons, I'm sure they're both good.
