Whats Going On With My Truck?

I bought a 1991 ranger 4.0L 4wd 5 speed and I recently started hving trouble with the cooling system making the coolant disappear and coming close to overheating, I dont have any coolant leaking on the ground and its not in my oil nor does my exhaust have a sweet smell or hint its burning out, as far as the overheating is concernedi put a new thermostat water pump and even a new radiator cap and so far it hasnt work to get the temp down, whats a good temp for the 4.0L? i had a manual gauge in it and it was always bouncing from 200 to about 220 in my experience 180 to 195 is a good temp. Any Ideas?

check your head gasket! i would do a compression check

Coolant leaks do NOT have to make it to the ground. Inspect your engine block, radiator core, heater core, all hose connections, and the water pump/front cover for CORROSION TRACKS or white crystalline deposits.

MAKG is right look for corrosion tracks.

Particularly near the right rear corner of the block, around the core plugs and on the side tank of the radiator.

Small leaks can go unnoticed except for the fluid loss.
