Hi I bought a 1988 bronco ii a few weeks back. I drove it home and it ran fine. It needed a throwout bearing so I replaced that got everything back toghether and it wont start.:icon_confused:

Neutral safety switch? Does it crank over?

Edit. guess I should have said clutch/starter interlock switch also.

i dont know if the manual trans have it but theres an orange wire that is bolted to wear you would bolt the trans dipstick tube. be sure you did that.

Did you reconnect the battery cables. Don't ask why I said that I just happen to know mine won't start if the battery cables aren't hooked up to the battery. :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I found out that there was white stuff floating in the coolant which sounds like the engine is going to have be swapped out. How hard is the 4.0l swap because from what I have been reading it sounds like I need 90-92 wiring and computer and any other engine for 90-99 will work

HMMMM much like whiskey blockage then yes!?:thefinger:

well from what ive read the swap is pretty easy. ive read you can use the stock 2.9 computer too, and that it will bolt up to the stock 2.9 trans. theres some info in the library about it.
