What year ranger did this come off of?

A guy local to me is selling 5 rims w/ tires and I was curious what year this came off of and would it work on my 97 2.3L 2WD?

Thanks for the reply, I did look at the wheel fitment guide but it has way more math than I'm capable of doing. The wheel guide at the bottom(With pictures) didn't have that particular rim and the guy selling them doesn't know what year ranger they came off of so before I tried putting 88 ranger rims on a 97 truck I figured I'd ask someone more familiar with them.
 
The lug pattern will be the same - 5 lugs evenly spaced around a 4 1/2" diameter circle. Commonly called 5x4.5 lug pattern. As long as they are Ranger wheels from that far back, the backspacing and offset should be standard. In other words, they should fit fine. Nice looking wheels.

Thanks! I have some 15's on my truck now and I think the rear diff wasn't regeared. The door sticker shows the axle code as 86 which is 3.73 gear ratio and it feels pretty gutless so I'm hoping putting 14's back on will remedy some of that.

I'm pretty sure that the wheel is in the photos.

I would probably pass just because they're 14 inch... not many choices these days for 14's.
 
Wheel diameter doesn't matter for gear ratio and power. The outside diameter of the tire is what figures into that. Your OEM tires probably had a diameter near 29". As long as the diameter of your new tires are similar, you won't notice a difference. OEM tire size should be marked on the sticker on the driver side door or door jamb.

Good to know, The OEM's were apparently 225/70/R14's and the one's that are on it now are 235/75/R15.

With that info, you can go to a tire size calculator online and get the diameter. For example;

Listen to Uncle Gump. Sizes in 14" wheels are getting more difficult to find. I have a 70 2800CS BMW that has 14" wheels. Good quality performance tires in the size I want are very hard to find. Fortunately, it does not get a lot of miles put on it and don't have to be replace very often. They are getting old though.
 
To follow up on Eric's earlier post, 9.5% difference in tire diameter is a big deal, and if you want to keep that difference from stock you should re-gear the diff to get your performance back.

I would like to but doing a rear diff gear change seems like it is very particular about how its done that I probably don't have the skills to complete.
