what would it take to make a truck drift spec? any suggestions? most cars use coilover front and rear shocks with all wheel independent suspension. i dont think anybody has ever done a drift truck and i want to see what it would take and possibly take on that task. im thinking 4 point link the rear end and mounting the shocks on one side of the axle facing one another on a framerail that runs along the bed with a sway bar for the rear. i have a 92 2wd tib truck and wonder if there is a heavy duty spring somewhere and a good shock to compliment it, the tib is a rather strong front end setup i think i can get away with simply using it and beefing up the radius arm rod brackets and springs (stabilize the front end and keep it from rolling too far). just one of those fun projects to make the ladies lift their skirts for a beat up ranger on the wknds...lol

Just drop in a v8! haha, seriously though your going to want some "looker" tires that appear mean but are cheap and have poor grip. Then you'll want to concentrate on setting up your suspension so that your truck won't roll. A stiffer suspension and a lower center of gravity are best. A wider track will help the overall stance too.

well gofast havent seen you in a while but glad your the one giving me some input. my 92 sets pretty low (xlt extended cab 2wd) and my new shocks dropped the ride height about an inch. was going to do a mild slam to help a lil better but from what im seeing theres reliability issues with some of the parts. was thinking shorter heavier springs in the front and camber adjusters to match. the rear is my real concern, ass end doesnt like to stay under the bed as it is, have some traction bars im going to install and ill see how that does. ive seen where they have sway bars in the rear of some rangers, kno what yrs they are so i can go to the jy and possibly rob one? i have the 2.3 truck with m50d and just rebuilt the rear end with 3.73s but its making some noise may swap to 4.10. i have 215/70r14s on the truck, cheapos that spin like crazy, thinking of going with another set of 14s (these are bent to hell) and 235/60r14s made of really hard rubber compound (80k or more life tire) and see what i can get out of her that and the lower profile should drop the truck a lil more. that and i will look into relocating the emergency brake cables to a car setup so i can rip the ebrake easier. my two worries are excessive front end body roll and the rear end coming out from under it.
