what will work in my truck???

i have a 94 range with a 4.0 auto and want to have a 5 speed in the truck... i know what i have to change done it many of times on mustangs but im not sure what years will work... will a 5 speed from a 2.9 work? i was told its the same block...any info will help out a ton....thanks oh yeah if anyone want to buy a auto trans i will have one for sale verry soon...

i think so. same bolt pattern.
however, the tranny built to go behind a 4.0 is stronger. I think it has a larger clutch plate amongst other things.

best bet it to just try to find one set to a 4.0. as common as exploders are, it shouldnt be a problem
